‘Nader and Simin, a Separation’ Wins Big at Asian Film Awards

Asghar Farhadi’s Nader and Simin, a Separation was the big winner at the 6th Asian Film Awards on Monday evening.

The Academy Award-winning Iranian courtroom drama took best film, best director and best screenwriter for Farhadi, as well as best editor for Hayedeh Safiyari.

Leila Hatami was nominated for Best Actress in the 6th Asian Film Awards for her performance in Nader and Simin, A Separation.

She was up against Eugene Domingo of The Woman in The Septic Tank (Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank), Vidya Balan of The Dirty Picture (India); Michelle Chen of You are the Apple of My Eye (Taiwan); and Deanie IP of A Simple Life (Hong Kong).

A Separation won best film, best Screenplay, best director and Film Editing Award.
